sunday july one

Here is sister Lynne who surprise visited from Brisvegas on Sunday, with my nephew who is 15. Fifteen! it has been two years since we've seen each other. They were dressed, in lynne's words, in 'cool sydney black', which i thought was a cool melbourne people thing there you go.

Sebby's hat is awesome, it looked better with the fringe swept slightly under as his mother suggested but he is 15 and as i recall, if your mum tells you to do something at that age you do the opposite.

Me and sissy. I'm wearing an indigo swing jacket i bought in myer on the ground floor (young people's section). the advantage of shopping there, i found, was that it was young people's prices and i scored this for about 70-80 bucks on sale. Red woollen flower was knitted for me by Jan (of bead fame).

Later that day I saw the ladies, who were dressed on the top half in cool sydney black but had bright colourful skirts underneath i wish i'd snapped.

Tiny, in a dress from Zara and B, who was unwell in ... you guessed it CSB.

Here's Edward. He lived in Melbs till he was 11, hellraised in Brisbane til about six years ago and is all over the cool black, whichever state he is in.

i am sorry it has been so long

the twins have arrived! i am stoked... naomi is on the left (formerly known as A) and Zadie (B) is on the right. True fact: zadie made it out first, by ten minutes. elissa is doing great and damo is exhausted. both ecstatic.

erin is equally delighted - and doesn't she look pretty in pink. twins are switched this time round - they are non identical which is going to make things easier. just adorable... both erin and i felt our ovaries stirring - how could you not?

it was julzie who last night suggested to sarah and me that we keep the blog going by taking portraits of our friend's lovely outfits, which is a damn good idea (i was complaining i was sick of myself and both of us that we had run out of clothes). Julzie is wearing a navy blue beautiful trench coat she bought in paris last year from birthday money from the ladies. the boots she bought this year with our voucher from elise boutique. i have boot envy - they are navy blue suede wedge ankle boots and look gorgeous on her.

here is sarah and i at the business dinner where we discussed the blog's future in earnest. spoke to my sister today who said it was "a disgrace"we hadn't posted in so long, along with other equally flattering dedications from readers. thanks you guys, i am pleased that people like it because to me i feel like i am quite a silly person, as is willy, obviously.

lo, von helle! we ran into two of the sisters at midnight special after dinner. stef looked smokin' in this dress she bought for $30 on ebay (junkie). she is wearing one white and one black legged stockings, and does have two legs, i promise.

Liv - Tiges! Was great to see her, she is looking gorgeous in her red leggings and black almost business chic. she is just back from 5-day baby sleeping class with her two little boys and was digging the night out on the town (and the boys were sleeping!).

Wednesday 30 May

The red $8 Red Cross skirt is back in circulation! That ironing binge really keeps on giving.

Shirt I got on my 30th in Stockholm, navy scarf that I seem to wear most days, and my ever present brown jacket! It's had a button hanging off for months now, and when it finally falls off and I lose it I will be sure to complain about it.

Tuesday 29 May

Elise and I said our goodbyes this afternoon - sniff. She took this pic before racing out the door laden with a whole heap of bags, the contents of which shall be revealed over time on these pages no doubt.

I'm in a bit of a hodge podge outfit today - it's another brown Zara jacket, this one Dan bought me about 6 years ago I reckon. Orange Lush top; green skirt was a couple of bucks from an op shop in Marrickville; and look it's the ankle boots with a heel I've only worn a handful of times! Man my feet hurt at the end of the day. Topped off with my subversive bronze Roman earrings.

Monday 28 May

Here's DD showing off another of his recent online purchases. Isn't he adorable?

The towel is from Nanny Hogan, who gave all the kids in the family one a few Chrismases ago. Bless.

Sunday May 27

Special ladies day today folks. Skye, Maria and I went to Bendigo to see the Grace Kelly exhibition that's showing at the Art Gallery at present. And as is my way, I insisted we dress up!

Skye looked amazing in her frock - pink with flowers and navy piping. Gorgeous - and $15! Bargain.

Maria actually bought a frock in honour of the excursion, bless her. It is tres flattering, and from David Lawrence, as are her new boots. Her red handbag is fabulous - a gift from her sister and brother in law for organising a trip to the Almafi Coast in Italy a few years back. Maria worked from their lovely hotel while everyone else went out and enjoyed the holiday. Crazy lady!

I'm wearing a Basque green wrap around frock that used to belong to Lisa who featured here a few months back. I think I last wore it to Lizzie's wedding. Blue tights from Dangerfield, and the brown Campers I got for 50 big ones at the Fitzroy markets. My brown wool jacket (the third I've worn this week I believe) I got made in Vietnam about 5 years ago on hols with Trace and Dan.

Later that night was a bit of a soiree - I only got a pic of Elise, in her pony tunic, looking gorgeous as ever.

Saturday 26 May

I had 3 outfit changes today; here's the only one I got a pic of though.

Elise! She's visiting for a few days, and here we are reunited. White Roxy top that cost me 10 bucks a few weeks back, and the Chux-style scarf was the same, from the Sadie outlet. I am looking tres dull but happy, and quite possibly 3 sheets to the wind.

Here's Elise and DD, in the midst of our rowdy Eurovision semi final party. DD has an online shopping addiction and this is his latest purchase - a retro 80s style cricket top. I couldn't have said it an better than Eileen - he looks like the love child of Allan Border and Merv Hughes. Hear hear, lady.
