sunday july one

Here is sister Lynne who surprise visited from Brisvegas on Sunday, with my nephew who is 15. Fifteen! it has been two years since we've seen each other. They were dressed, in lynne's words, in 'cool sydney black', which i thought was a cool melbourne people thing there you go.

Sebby's hat is awesome, it looked better with the fringe swept slightly under as his mother suggested but he is 15 and as i recall, if your mum tells you to do something at that age you do the opposite.

Me and sissy. I'm wearing an indigo swing jacket i bought in myer on the ground floor (young people's section). the advantage of shopping there, i found, was that it was young people's prices and i scored this for about 70-80 bucks on sale. Red woollen flower was knitted for me by Jan (of bead fame).

Later that day I saw the ladies, who were dressed on the top half in cool sydney black but had bright colourful skirts underneath i wish i'd snapped.

Tiny, in a dress from Zara and B, who was unwell in ... you guessed it CSB.

Here's Edward. He lived in Melbs till he was 11, hellraised in Brisbane til about six years ago and is all over the cool black, whichever state he is in.

i am sorry it has been so long

the twins have arrived! i am stoked... naomi is on the left (formerly known as A) and Zadie (B) is on the right. True fact: zadie made it out first, by ten minutes. elissa is doing great and damo is exhausted. both ecstatic.

erin is equally delighted - and doesn't she look pretty in pink. twins are switched this time round - they are non identical which is going to make things easier. just adorable... both erin and i felt our ovaries stirring - how could you not?

it was julzie who last night suggested to sarah and me that we keep the blog going by taking portraits of our friend's lovely outfits, which is a damn good idea (i was complaining i was sick of myself and both of us that we had run out of clothes). Julzie is wearing a navy blue beautiful trench coat she bought in paris last year from birthday money from the ladies. the boots she bought this year with our voucher from elise boutique. i have boot envy - they are navy blue suede wedge ankle boots and look gorgeous on her.

here is sarah and i at the business dinner where we discussed the blog's future in earnest. spoke to my sister today who said it was "a disgrace"we hadn't posted in so long, along with other equally flattering dedications from readers. thanks you guys, i am pleased that people like it because to me i feel like i am quite a silly person, as is willy, obviously.

lo, von helle! we ran into two of the sisters at midnight special after dinner. stef looked smokin' in this dress she bought for $30 on ebay (junkie). she is wearing one white and one black legged stockings, and does have two legs, i promise.

Liv - Tiges! Was great to see her, she is looking gorgeous in her red leggings and black almost business chic. she is just back from 5-day baby sleeping class with her two little boys and was digging the night out on the town (and the boys were sleeping!).

Wednesday 30 May

The red $8 Red Cross skirt is back in circulation! That ironing binge really keeps on giving.

Shirt I got on my 30th in Stockholm, navy scarf that I seem to wear most days, and my ever present brown jacket! It's had a button hanging off for months now, and when it finally falls off and I lose it I will be sure to complain about it.

Tuesday 29 May

Elise and I said our goodbyes this afternoon - sniff. She took this pic before racing out the door laden with a whole heap of bags, the contents of which shall be revealed over time on these pages no doubt.

I'm in a bit of a hodge podge outfit today - it's another brown Zara jacket, this one Dan bought me about 6 years ago I reckon. Orange Lush top; green skirt was a couple of bucks from an op shop in Marrickville; and look it's the ankle boots with a heel I've only worn a handful of times! Man my feet hurt at the end of the day. Topped off with my subversive bronze Roman earrings.

Monday 28 May

Here's DD showing off another of his recent online purchases. Isn't he adorable?

The towel is from Nanny Hogan, who gave all the kids in the family one a few Chrismases ago. Bless.

Sunday May 27

Special ladies day today folks. Skye, Maria and I went to Bendigo to see the Grace Kelly exhibition that's showing at the Art Gallery at present. And as is my way, I insisted we dress up!

Skye looked amazing in her frock - pink with flowers and navy piping. Gorgeous - and $15! Bargain.

Maria actually bought a frock in honour of the excursion, bless her. It is tres flattering, and from David Lawrence, as are her new boots. Her red handbag is fabulous - a gift from her sister and brother in law for organising a trip to the Almafi Coast in Italy a few years back. Maria worked from their lovely hotel while everyone else went out and enjoyed the holiday. Crazy lady!

I'm wearing a Basque green wrap around frock that used to belong to Lisa who featured here a few months back. I think I last wore it to Lizzie's wedding. Blue tights from Dangerfield, and the brown Campers I got for 50 big ones at the Fitzroy markets. My brown wool jacket (the third I've worn this week I believe) I got made in Vietnam about 5 years ago on hols with Trace and Dan.

Later that night was a bit of a soiree - I only got a pic of Elise, in her pony tunic, looking gorgeous as ever.

Saturday 26 May

I had 3 outfit changes today; here's the only one I got a pic of though.

Elise! She's visiting for a few days, and here we are reunited. White Roxy top that cost me 10 bucks a few weeks back, and the Chux-style scarf was the same, from the Sadie outlet. I am looking tres dull but happy, and quite possibly 3 sheets to the wind.

Here's Elise and DD, in the midst of our rowdy Eurovision semi final party. DD has an online shopping addiction and this is his latest purchase - a retro 80s style cricket top. I couldn't have said it an better than Eileen - he looks like the love child of Allan Border and Merv Hughes. Hear hear, lady.

Friday 25 May

Casual Friday - not a day too soon! Pink stripey top is from Esprit and the rest of it I wear all the time.

Thursday 24 May

I was busted by a workmate as Skye took my pic this afternoon - thus the face. Shaaaaame.

Same top as 2 days ago, boots and tights, my funky check Mango skirt, and green scarf that I think Karizy gave me some time in the past few years.

Wednesday 23 May

Not only have I been ironing, I finally got around to doing some washing of delicates!

This beautiful top is from my last trip to Europe (got it in Berlin) and it's been in my washing pile for a looooong time. It's now clean and ironed, though the frill bits could probably have used a bit more attention. I always feel a million bucks when I wear this, even when it's just with my usual black pencil skirt and boots.

tuesday may twenty two

harry.

Tuesday 22 May

Only remembered to get a pic when I got to the gym tonight, so today's surround are a delightful toilet cubicle. Who says I'm in a rut hey?

Back to my comfort clothing as the cold sets in. Blue Campers, black tights, my navy a-line Lush skirt (Elise! I've been binge ironing again!), black rouched Veronika Maine top, brown Zara jacket, and a scarf I got for a friend in the UK from a factory outlet with Lucille. I took a shine to it and had a change of heart, evidently. From memory it was about 10 bucks.

monday may twenty one

you've seen it all before, winter drudgery.

Elissa is getting harder to hide - this was three weeks to go.

she looks terrific, huh? the twins are going low now.

Monday 21 May

Spotty Monsoon top, brown Zara jacket, and some earrings I haven't worn for yonks because I had lost the hook bit. I got them at Sportsgirl in Broadway 3 years or so ago.

Sunday 20 May

Day 2 in Wagga; here's Nanny Hoganm who has been in hospital and is on the mend thankfully. She's a funny old duck; she actually put curlers in her hair last night so she'd look better when we came to visit. Bless. This is likely to be her most civilised nightie. She has some absolute shockers, believe you me.

I cheered myself up with my paisley Zara top, comfortable navy jeans, and purple Cons.

Saturday 19 May

Today I met my newest second cousin; his name is Travis and he is very, very cute and very, very small.

Mama Pam, who is over the moon with her first great nephew. She's looking excellent is she not? I think that's a new maroon and red knit. Baby T is looking pretty funky in his dinosaur wrap.

Here's my cousin Jaq, hanging out at the Calvery Hospital in Wagga Wagga. I think there is a Virgin Mary in there too.

friday may eighteen

bernie's birthday drinks and we are heading out. her top is from SES - how good is it? boots she bought in london.

it was edward's actual birthday and i forgot to take a photo, which is deeply regrettable. im in my black saba jeans, review top and cardy from tiny. i bought a new maroon bag for $40 at the bag place at the metro when i was buying my mum her mother's day present. beads from julz. i'm in the alley behind bernie and narissa's house.

Friday 18 May

Soooo tired today... but here I am looking chirpy as the end of the day, and the working week for that matter, draws nearer.

Lemon japanese style top with bell sleeves that I wore in one of my very first DTTE posts. I am looking a little squashed into this top today eh DTTErs? Not to worry, I have other things to think about other than my expanding fat bits- such as the fact I have a new second cousin, as of about 1am today :) You'll be seeing pics of him real soon, don't fret.

Thursday 17 May

"Also, when are you going to update the blog?  What am I supposed to do at lunch?"
- George

Flattery will get you everywhere DTTEr's keep it up!! :)

My office - black boots, aqua tights (too small, have been hoiking them up all day), black Lush a-line dress with buttons and pleats I got a few months ago (third outing - the value is increasing exponentially), and a scarf you won't have seen before. I got in in Turkey, on a week off in Istanbul. My friend and I shopped around all day til I found one I loved - I think we got 2 for the princely sum of $12.

thursday may seventeen

oh look here's ed. he's in a new birthday jacket that i sneakily bought in NZ in feb (so i cant say how much it was, but, you know...), model's own flanny and brown jeans i bought in malaysia. so cosmopolitan and ed wears it well.

this maroon jumper had its last wear that day, bought in kmart from im sure about $20 or something maybe five years ago and with built in BO. had to go. usual jeans, maroon campers.

rich is in designer black.

jonathan borrowed my tedious task hat to do his first board report.

Wednesday 16 May

I hope you all feel sorry for me after seeing this pic - I look haggard, no more, no less. Someone needs to cheer the fk up!!

This top hasn't come out in the past year or so - it is wholly unflattering is it not? I got it when I had a little shopping spree in Germany a few years back I believe. Entirely different to pretty much everything else I own. I love the colour especially - teal. Worn with Lizzie's black skirt, long sleeve 5 quid black top and boots. Oh and my stripey socks.

This turned up in the post today from DD's brief sojourn to Eng-er-land last week, bless him. The fridge magnet is courtesy of Karizy - she got it at a shop that specialises in fake food. Love it.

Wednesday 15 May

I was dressed respectably today, but have no evidence of this claim. This is me crashed out on the couch last night, having been to the gym and scoffed my little fat face.

Icebreaker jumper and those delightful gym shorts. Note the Magpies ankle socks, that I wear when I want to upset DD (him being a Collingwood hater, as are many people). The jumper is really close to it's last legs, and is fraying all over the place. However, I will never willingly throw it away, mark my words.

There's a big pile of clothes on the couch that I've been meaning to iron all week... sigh.

Monday, 14 May 2012

Monday 14 May

I've downloaded the pics too small so you can't see them properly sorry - Japanese style dress that has had a mighty good innings, I think you'll all agree. 60 or 80 bucks from Mango in Singapore. I'm all rugged up to go to Prince... who was freaking awesome. If I had any sense I would have worn a raspberry beret but as usual my best ideas are too little late!

Got this coat at the Events outlet in Alexandria just before I moved to Canberra - think it was $120, which I was pleased with (under half price). It has been worth every cent.

Sunday, 13 May 2012

sunday may thirteen

mum and me on mother's day. i think mum should have made a choice between the beads and the flower, but it was mother's day so i guess the jauntiness is excusable. blue knit is likely made by nan. i am in the top i got at sarah jane ages ago, usual jacket, jeans.

shirley - aka nanna.

Sunday May 13

Not sure why I look so odd in this photo, I'm blaming the photographer.

Yellow top with the frill on it's second outing ever (10 dollar, bought on Smith St 2 weeks ago), navy jeans I got in German last year, olive singlet I got from Esprit in Honkers, and the brown ankle boots I found in my cupboard yesterday. I even gave them a polish! Nifty eh? Also yellow wooden earrings from Trace.

I almost match :)

Saturday, 12 May 2012

sat may twelve

had a lazy day - can you tell? black bonds hoodie, dress from k-marche, $19. blue holey leggings you can't see and slipper socks.

Saturday 12 May

Lady, I see your sloth and I rise to your challenge. DD's navy Adidas pants that I think may now officially be mine, and navy merino Icebreaker on top. Contain your excitement folks.

All hail the lazy Saturday, greatest day of the week.
