saturday march thirty one

took M & Z to a backyard gig at mase's, last vegan mosquitoes gig EVER plus three other bands, at the very civilised time of 4-8pm. surprised these two with an invite while they were in the bath by selling it as a rock show and they were pumped, as you can tell by the wet hair.

M is wearing head to toe dora the explorer, im in a green gold sparkly number i bought at seduce years ago for about $50, black witchery skirt and malaysian sandals. Z dressed herself in a going out top, pyjama bottoms and mules.

Saturday 31 March

Caught up with an old friend Lisa today, who is in town for a blogging conference.

(Elise... did you lose our invites or something?? Sheesh...)

Anyways to celebrate such a brilliant day we headed up to Madame Brussels rooftop bar and settled in for a quite drink.

It's OK, I didn't drink it all myself, though the smug look on my face suggests otherwise. Reallllly need to work on getting another photo pose. Wearing the orange frilly Review top that was $140 marked down to $39 that has had many an outing on this blog. Think I was wearing an exciting pair of jeans (jeans!) on the bottom.

Here's Lisa, cheersing to us and the pool boy in the background (I think he was lingering to be part of the shot, just quietly). Her dress is from Modcloth - you can't see it very well but it was a funky yellow, black and white number, accessorised with a sheer short sleeved jacket/shrug and some very cool black sandals which I can't describe so won't even try.

friday march thirty

Back at work today but still not 100%. I am cheering on the weekend but cannot muster a smile - this week can go make love to itself, colloquially speaking.

i'm wearing a black wraparound dress from cligger and black brogues i bought in paddington for about $100.

Friday March 30

This is the last time you're likely to see Skye with fire engine red hair - so lap it up! It's all coming off on Sunday - if haven't yet sponsored her, now is the hour!

She adjusted this dress herself - it is extremely funky, I can attest. She put the pockets in herself, and that's why her hands are in her pockets - showing them off!

Here's Lach - he walked in, saw I was updating the blog, and demanded I take his photo - 'but you better not defame me this time'. What are you going to do Snaggies, sue me?? Take a ticket and get in queue buddy.

He then took a photo of me sitting down clearly not working - and told me the pic was hideous. Cheers Lach!! That's OK, he's going to get his commeth uppance when he does Tough Mudder on the weekend.

Wearing my favourite Japanese -floral jobbie from Mango, $60ish, 5 years ago.

Thursday March 29

Clearly too much sport has not been enough this week; I now present for your viewing pleasure a few shots from the Carlton/Richmond game.

DD is not only wearing a Carlton top but he's also got a polo t-shirt underneath - because you need to wear a collared shirt to get into the members area. Pretty funny eh? Elise there is an ad for Optus on the back which I started to get cross about seeing as I couldn't get any reception all freaking night - there are so many ads at that ground they are unavoidable.  Number 5 on the back is the captain's number (bet I could kick arse at the sports q's at trivia this week with that powerful knowledge eh!!).

I had a meeting today and was wearing nicer shoes to match this outfit earlier so I looked quite classy but didn't get a pic; I wore the gold-zip Zara combo (under 30 euro each). My boots were under my table and I had to cajole a workmate into loaning me a pair of socks when I decided I didn't want to wear heels to the footy.

thursday march twenty-nine

Here is me, day two of sickness. Hosted a panel yesterday at a media forum on day one, which went well, i think, but was too feverish to remember to take a pic. today i worked from home, in my very old bootcut jeans by mavi (cannot recall their price) and my danmark tee that jubes had since he was five - it's threadbare and very soft. his dad, (papa) keld, passed away on monday and i'm wearing it in his honour. he was danish, charismatic as hell and always very kind to me. i'll miss him.

Wednesday 28 March

7:20 am

8:00 am

7:20pm

8:00pm

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the sportiest one of all? Me in my fetching commuting gear; you have to trust me that it's cold in the mornings and that is the only reason I wear those leggings. ALWAYS, always with shorts on the top. Poofy gave me the Espana top in 2005, I still get people starting conversations with me in Spanish.

DD is wearing his Greek flag Adidas top and his Chelsea running shorts. They will go missing in due course, don't worry.

Tuesday 27 March

I'm trying to be less precious and not post pics in the same pose over and over, so here goes. Skye and I pissed ourselves when we saw this picture - it is sooo unflattering. Mission accomplished.

The v-neck pleated top from Cue's factory outlet hasn't had a run for a while eh? It's very see through, but fine with a singlet. Same goes with this Portman's skirt I got in Bondiii before I moved to Canberra. Not sure what I was thinking when I did my hair today though.

tuesday march twenty seven

Harmony Day today - about multiculturalism and Us All Getting Along - and to celebrate at work we had a lovely lunch with foods of the world that everyone brought in (except me, having dropped the ball on my sri lankan love cake). Serendipitously - nay harmoniously - Erin and I were in matching greens. I suspect she bought this dress from her favourite Etsy store but will seek confirmation.

And me. To be fair my hair was sticky post personal training, and to be honest i have not washed it in some time. but still. the hands are because i dropped some brown dutch meatball sauce on my dress and then made it much, much worse with a large wet patch in trying to clean it off. Dress is from the Ghetto in Marrickville - sorry, U-Turn Fashion. I think they were 3 for $21 - bought them with you, Sarah!

monday march twenty six

Ed & I had the day off today and i regret to inform you dear readers i forgot to take a pic of me, but here's the boy poised in a catlike state of readiness to kill the Bad Guys. He's in an old white long-sleeve tee and brown pants i bought him in Truly Asia for $40. i spent a lot of the day sorting through my wardrobe (please read: picking everything up off the floor and putting it away) while Ed saved the world, so hopefully i will be more inspired fashion-wise in the days ahead.

Monday 26 March

The cool weather has well and truly set in; it was 10 degrees when I ventured out into the world this morning. Ugh. Office was surprisingly toasty though so I didn't have to layer up for once.

Red skirt I got from the Red Cross (boom tish) in Balmain for 7 dollar; this black top has featured only a couple of times before. It's got a high, ruched collar and also gathers in the middle; and puffy sleeves. It's a bit unflattering if I'm portly round the middle but it felt OK today so I'm doing something right.

Sunday 25 March

The only reason I got dressed at all today was to go to the gym. This is an aftershot, evidently.

Can't remember how much the glamorous shorts were - pretty sure even if it was 10 bucks I would have resented handing over the cash at the time, for something I wear a mere 3 times a week. Pink singlet is merino wool and I think cost about the same. Runners were 50, and I claimed them as my family Christmas present (we have dysfunctional Kris Kringle). The jumper has featured before - Icebreaker merino hoodie that I blanked the price of because it would have hurt so bad at the time.

saturday march twenty four

Behold! Davidson siblings - three of us anyways, just about to leave for Renee (cousin) and Dave's wedding. This is me, my brother NJ and my sister Trace. We dressed in matching colours - red, black and white - and called ourselves NJ and the Rockers. There is a photo of us holding up a sign that I have just remembered.

My mum and Ken, who make a handsome pair. Mum looks booby in this pic but she actually nailed it - dress was cut in all the right places. (was satin, alas, but she made up for it with a sensible shawl. she's getting there.)

I just uploaded this extra pic because they look so damn cool in it.

Me and Cousie. She looked stunning but of course tired of her veil after about ten minute and i had to carry it. wedding spotters, i am sorry but i do not recall the name of the dress's designer, but i do recall it was one even i have heard of. i want to say colette dinnigan but i really cannot remember.

Aw. Cosie and little Harry, who was in a matching tux to his pa, who you can see in the background. Little tyke had a cold but still seemed to enjoy the ceremony, even though he got passed around about a billion times.

Dancefloor. The band, the Martini Club, absolutely made the night. I am wearing a hat someone put on my head - i have no further information than that other than someone took it off me not long after that.

Cutting. Loose. And how.

Cousie and Dave. The photos actually get a lot more, ah, physical, than this, but I think i'll leave you with this. We had a ball. I'm sure there will be more photos to come later on but that would be spoiling the surprise. A teaser: at one point my nana, Shirley, was wearing a spider-man mask.

Saturday 24 March

Autumnal day, autumnal outfit.

Lizzie's black skirt (yeah I know, again, good investment eh?), black top from Topshop (5 quid), and the orange and brown top I got at Promod in Portugal in 2003. Would have been 20 or 30 euros I reckon; only really bought it into general circulation last year, and I'm glad I did. Black boots were $200 from somewhere exotic like Myer or DJs.

friday march twenty three

Friday - Kimmy's farewell at the Erko. I'm in my black and red checked number from Review.

The ladies - L to R: Vanessa, Kimmy, Tiny, Riss, me and Bernie.

Friday 23 March

Went to get my morning coffee today and Jenny the lady who works there said to me:

"Sarah you must have an unlimited wardrobe - you never wear the same thing twice".

Needless to say, it made my day.

Here's me layered to the elevens. Brown Lonsdale shoes that are really lopsided from being worn to death; got em 5 years ago at the Lonsdale shop in Burwood Westfield (!!). Dark jeans were 60 euros (or maybe 60 Oz dollars) bought in Germany last year on a rainy day. Street One I think they're called. Blue and navy spotty top from Monsoon; pink oversized cardy from Zara. Brown jacket I blogged a few days back on the top, topped off by the navy scarf I got for 5 dollar when I bought a cardy at Cotton On.

Yeah, it was cold today.

Thursday 22 March

Upon entering my workplace today I was informed I looked like shit. Thanks Lach! I had early radio interviews to do and had rushed in without brushing my hair. And it was that obvious. Shocker.

Tried to take a pic Elise style - one shot only, and at arms length. This is all I got sorry folks. Long sleeve black tee (5 quid), the brown lacy top Trace doesn't remember giving me, black skirt from Lizze, and the tan flats ($15). Quite chuffed at the figures involved in this outfit just quietly!

thursday march twenty two

Went and got my hairs coloured with karen on thursday morn ahead of The Wedding of the Year. I look like Daphne from the Jetsons in this, i think.

Voila! Hairs. I bought this dress from Akiwa Ave for 35 and it came with the red bow. Black flats from Witchery.

Special post...

Beloved DTTE repeat offender Skye is doing some fundraising for a close friend to coincide with Shave for a Cure.

In 2 weeks time she will be shaving her head - hear that ladies? ALL OFF! To make the challenge that little bit harder (as if that would be possible), she's dyed her hair in line with most commonly requested colours by people who have donated.

And look what we got for our money - RED!! It is attracting a lot of attention, in a good way - even the lady at our local sandwich shop gave her a fiver for the cause. Pretty cool eh?

On the tram on the way home was this ad for Dare To Wear day, which is a fundraiser on March 30 for women experiencing disadvantage to get back into the workplace.

Check out the ad for it - it's a games board of items you might dare someone to wear.

Who's keen?!?

Wednesday 21 March

I am suitably shamed Elise - but looky look, a post on the actual day!

This white oriental-style top is a crowd pleaser; was due to be a glum day so I thought I'd wear it to cheer everyone up in advance. It's 8 years or so old, from H&M in Brussels. I reckon it cost me 20 euros max - possibly 10 (I am a tighty from way back).

Black Promod pants, which suffered a little lunchtime accident when I splattered avocado all over them, leaving most unfortunate white marks all over. Red Diana Ferrari shoes, which coped well on my walk in this morning will all the blisters still on my feet. Brown Zara jacket that I love to bits - got it in Singapore for 100 big ones (so maybe $80 Strayan dollar) also about 5 years ago. It has served me very, very well.

wednesday march twenty one

here's edward looking heartbreaking in his loud green chinos i bought him in malaysia (truly asia, $20) and one of his favourite wifebeaters (note to our one american reader: that is a turn of phrase - he does not beat any of his wives). he does not normally wear sunglasses indoors either but they work for this pic, no?

here's me at work first thing. i washed my hair today, which is pretty impressive and trainspotters (sare) will note that i am wearing the top i wore on the first official day of our blog, soon to celebrate its first birthday. willy, i love you and all but i am wiping the floor with you in terms of updates lately and you need to pull up your bobby socks.

Tuesday March 20

Still sulking a little bit that George has left. Sniff. I wore the earrings we bought at one of the bajillion markets we went to on the weekend. They're from a Melbourne maker called Miss Moi, and we got 2 pairs for $35... or 25? I can't remember now. Pretty cool eh? And no, they're not identical... not quite, anyway.

Seeing it was also the last day of summer, at 28 balmy degrees, I wore my navy a-line Lush skirt and the green peek-a-boo top I got last year for around 30 euros. Tan flats not shown.

Later that day me and DD went to the pool for a dip, I caused minor offence by telling him he was looking like an ABB contender. There's no photo to prove it, but shut your eyes and imagine this: pale plue short Adidas shorts (and yes I mean SHORT),  lemon yellow Le Coq singlet, black Havianas, a faded Roger Federer cap which has the effect of extending the mullet he's been cultivating (ie extra long at the back and plastered right down on top when he takes it off.

See what I mean??

He didn't like that much, and wanted to know compared to who?? At which I could only snicker, because I am a mean biatch.  Though I did relent a little and say he would maybe be trumped by Shane Warne.  But only maybe.

tuesday march twenty

went to canberra yesterday and had a good but loooong day. here's me all proud with my unaccompanied pass - got signed in by a journo mate and was free to wander the halls. even went to question time for the first time and groaned along with the old people and the children at the state of it. rudd looked deeply, deeply sad on the back bench and did not smile ONCE as all the children around him traded insults and guffawed loudly at one another.

here's me in the ministerial wing in my leona edminston frock and tights from same. security busted us as we were taking another shot and made us delete it but this one survived. breaking all sorts of rules here, i'm sure, but luckily our blog has no readers, hey sare?*

*NO READERS EXCEPT FOR SKYE WHO IS OUR MOST LOYAL READER OF ALL AND THE BEST.

Monday 19 March

Me and DD saw Duran Duran tonight...

DID YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE?! Ahem.

Anyways, it was awesome. And the highlight of a day that was largely spent in the doldrums since George left. First world problems eh? They've been around 30 odd years, so they had plenty to choose from for a best of show; even I knew a suprising number of tunes.

Here's me on a bridge over the Yarra as sunset rapidly approaches. I'm wearing my nice Monsoon dress I got in Cambridge last year, that I normally wear when I need to look a bit ra ra. It got a run because it was all I could think to match with these sandals, which were the most important part of my outfit as my feet are cut to shiiiiit! I'm airing the blisters to dry them out, and grossing people out in the meantime. Their problem, methinks.

And here is the man of the moment himself, holding my handbag and looking very manly in his Top Gun t-shirt ('playing with the boys, pun most certainly intended). Not sure what the building in the background is but it was truly beautiful with the light shining off it that way.

monday march nineteen

Monday... pfffffffff. Shoes I have forgotten; top, stolen off my mother on the grounds of age appropriateness; skirt, kimmy, I'm guessin.

Sunday 18 March

Woke up in much better shape than expected, truth be told. Apart from my feet that is; they are cut to shit thanks to the new shoes I wore last night! Fek! I have at least 4 open wounds on each foot. Nice.

Today's outfit had to work around that; luckily it was warm (ish) - so I started with these sandals of unknown origin. Might have been somewhere like Payless shoes, or maybe o/s... it shall remain a mystery I guess. Black skirt from Lizzie, white long sleeve top from Pimkie, black scoop neck singlet from Sing-a-pore. I'm posing in Abbotsford Convent, where George and I hit up some markets after a delicious breakfast at Mixed Business. If you live in Melbourne go there, and get the eggs with the avocado and potato rosti. You're welcome.

George is wearing another cute dress from Revival - it's blue with yellow piping and has sweet buttons on the front. And it's not too short. Showing off her new sandals - they were a good purchase eh??

And one last shot from el aeroporto. Sniff. Note that someone had an outfit change, into a cute little top with stars on it from some place on Smith St for the grand sum of $15 (I think).
