It is official: I am exhausted. Here's me in the lift today in a new favourite red & white polka dot shirt from Bernie, black Witchery skirt ($50) and thongs, due to a particularly nasty kick i accidentally gave Ed's coffee table this morning. This rock 'n' roll lifestyle cannot continue.

Wednesday 29 February

I asked Lach to take a pic of me for the blog today; he took a pic of himself and about 8 photos of me; each and all were hideous. My gut was as big as my bosom (I was seated) and I was not happy one bit.

 So I went back to the gym for the second consecutive day. Here's a pic of me about to get changed.

This top is awesome eh?? Got it at Lush in Brunswick Street a couple of weekends ago - I think it was about 60 shmucks? It's a beautiful fabric, and I love the way the collar drapes. I think the colour is really flattering too. Last week I wore it with black pants and it was not flattering, thanks to the muffin top - but with the black pencil skirt it was much more streamline. Tan flats rounded the outfit off.

wednesday feb twenty nine

Last day of summer and J-Dizzle may well be a human metaphor for the time Sydneysiders have had. Hang on, i think that is a literal metaphor. Which doesn't make sense.

I digress. I have meetings today so dressed professionally in my dress that was $39 from Pitt St. It is a size ten and slightly squashes my boobs, but no mind. Shoes are two-toned brogues bought in NZ. I've got my trench with me as the weather is... please see above. 

FYI, the 29th Feb is traditionally the one day every four years where it is okay for women to ask marriage proposals of their men. I know this because one of my sisters did it on radio one year! He said yes, and later she reneged. THIS year ... Sarah you are the woman most likely... don't be afraid to get down on your knee (singular).

My quiffy fringe is sticky from the heat after sweating it out in 32 degree heat at personal training today. rough. i'm in my sixties blue A-line that i bought from scrags at the ghetto end of king street for $40, i think.

Brown spotted dress made another appearance today - look Elise, NO SLIP!! Bronze subversive earrings from Roma, and black boots (not shown).

 WTF is going on with that paunch!?!?

monday feb twenty seven

Spill day! Aye aye aye you crazy guys. I arrived at work with a coffee and Erin had baked banana nut muffins. Here I am happy as a clam in front of the telly first thing. I'm wearing my black review top, a cardy that Kimmy gave me, and my cutlery set necklace Julzie bought me in Spain in anticipation of a dinner date.

Monday 27 February

Miserable day here - sorry to mention the weather, Elise - but humid as hell.

Best I could do today was the black Zara pencil skirt, the frilly orange Review top I got for 40 big ones a few months back, and the red Diana Ferrari shoes I shelled out 70 bucks for.  Sorry bout the boobage, I realised I tracked mud all over the couch as I put my feet on my couch to get the shoes in so only had a choice of one.

sunday feb twenty six

here's me and cousin in bed sunday morning, sleeping top to tail like we always have. i'm in my sensible slip from FCUK from the night before ($20, sare and i have matching ones), cous managed to change into shorts and a singlet before staggering into bed at sunrise. this was about as good as it got on sunday.

Sunday 26 Feb

After a day where the temperature hovered between 35 and 40, today in Bright didn't get above 20. Seriously. Shivered my arse off at a couple of films/talks before hopping in the car and heading back south.

We did, however, stop for a brief pit stop for my DTTE pic; behold my inappropriate outfit of plaited sandals, denim skirt, green singlet and hippie top...

Guess where we were eh?

Just across the road there is a shop that lets you take old photos dressed to the elevens... the results speak for themselves. The male model in this pic was tres professional; didn't let the character drop even between takes.

saturday feb twenty five

Z, the little apple of my eye, is four now. the vogels are relocating to the nederledelands in april, which I am avoiding thinking about. i paid the girls a visit on saturday morning before driving up the coast to terrible terrigal for my cousin renee's hen's night. 

Narissa by happy coincidence was also in town and came to steal me me away for a few beers just before sundown. I'm in my sixties dress from kimmy, which was a hit, and Riss was looking delectable in a purple and white halterneck dress that is just below her knee.

Me and cousie, I'm sharing her headwear, which - much to her and my relief - was as bad as it got for us hens.

when it got too much we snuck off for a while. She's my favourite runaway bride, ever. she's wearing my black shoes from witchery ($50) and an anthea crawford dress from myer. 

Saturday 25 February

How pretty is Bright eh? Reminds me a lot of Tumut, where my extended family are from.

Spent the day sweltering and listening to people talk about some pretty amazing adventures. Highlight for me was a woman named Lois who motorbiked across Africa, through the Sahara and south through DRC - DRC FOR GODS SAKE!!!! - Angola, etc all the way to South Africa. She could tell a great story, as could Tim Cope who talked about 2 of his adventures - one you may have heard of, called In the Footseps of Ghengis Khan. He was my favourite I think, and one of the few who had done it on a pushie rather than a motorbike.

 Also impressive was the Bright Brewery where I spent a few tourist dollars. This is the only pic of me from the day - wearing my orange H&M top, white singlet and denim skirt - and Nana Mouskouri sunnies, of course. Mattttttthew wore his very manly Le Coq Sportif lemon singlet and camoflage shorts that he tells me he got at Wacken music festival in Germany sometime in the past 5 years.

Here's minh, our intern, and jonathan on friday in the office. it was minh's farewell and in her speech she spoke of her shock the first time she caught J-Dawgs stretching it out on his pink yoga mat. no one else bats an eye anymore. 

we had cupcakes. i forgot to take a photo of me that day. 

Friday 24 February

It's been a long week but today went quickly because I had to leave early to go on holidays... wooooo hoooo!!

Rode home and got changed back into my work gear - the Japanese-style floral dress I got in Singapore 5 years or so ago - ready to head off into the big blue yonder. But first, I opened my mail and saw I had a gift from Un Zud!! Pretty good eh!!

And now all I need is to buy some food so I can cook something and wear it! Thanks ladyfriend!!

Heading to Bright tonight to go to the Adventure Travel Film Festival - bit of a road trip and a long sunny weekend ahead... :)

Friday, Friday... post YouTubing. Dress I bought on south King St in about 2004 for a wedding. It's vintage but i haven't taken very good care of it so I wear it to work these days. Sunnies I bought at Broadway for $8 yesterday, heels were $40 quid are from UK (oh right, you can't see them...). bag a gift from the ladies for my 33rd.

It's really hot in Sydney today.

This is pre an epic YouTube party on Thursday night... I'm holding a large piece of ice in my cocktail. Skirt i bought in the Nederlederlands for 5 euros in 2006, t-shirt is the 'everybody poos' one i bought from threadless for $10 last year sometime. it's faded pretty quick.

I've got a bunch of pics to catch up from Un Zud, but they'll have to wait till the weekend I'm afraid.

Another warm one today - hurrah - so I cracked out my awesome orange and black psychadelic dress that I tend to wear on special ocassions.

After another long day chained to the desk I remembered to get a quick pic before getting changed and racing home - if you look close you'll see my funky padded cycling shorts - hot or what!!

Special mention of Skye today, who was wearing company colours! Her husband James got her this twin set in Wisconsin and it is all kinds of awesome. Skye being Skye, she noticed that it was hand made, and made well at that. 10 points for today's outfit lady - well done!

tuesday feb twenty one

leaving QT in much the same clothes i arrived, with my aqua jumper i bought in Un Zud last september for $3. 

and later that day, i spent a couple of rainy hours walking around christchurch where they had a flower show on in the canterbury gardens. it was the day before the anniversary of the big quake and it felt weird to be there.

Tuesday 21 February

Bit cooler today, so I cracked out the black boots that cost me a couple of hundred bucks last year and black long sleeved top - my standard uniform really. Over the top is my tv-on-the-blink dress I got in Germany last year.

 I think it washes me out, but I like it anyways.

monday feb twenty

After a much needed lazy monday we took a water taxi with some of the ladies over to the hilton for dinner. L to R is the psychiatrist, Alison, Lozzie and Sarah.

here's me on our way home in my new old brown dress and belt from akwa avenue, boots and rain jacket i paid a couple of hundred for mid winter. have really made good use of this summer.

sunday morning was clear and warm and STUNNING. here's me by the lake in queenstown, in my review long-sleeve black top and jeans. was hot but the mountains around me subconsciously, i believe, made me dress like it was cooler. 

later that day in a beautiful turret on a beautiful property outside QT where we had a bbq.

here's lozzie, climbing up a mountain late arvo. there was a lot of us and we didn't know what we were in for. spectacular views all the way up.

Sunday 19 February

Another fabulous day in the sunshine. We meandered around the city, ate, drank and were merry - all kinds of awesome.

My other brother Jazzy is (in)famous for having his eyes shut in most photos taken of him. We rip into him about it regularly. This pic of me and Nat was not posed;  I think we all got a good belly laugh out of it. No denying we are related.

This shot is from the afternoon down at Ponyfish Island,  a great little drinking spot on the river which I think Trace introduced me to.

This is the second outing of the blue bird print Leona Edmonson dress I got not long ago. 74 big ones well spent, just have to remember to wear it as much as I can as summer winds down.

Saturday 18 February

Showed the fam the traps today, spending quite a bit of time wandering around Fitzroy and surrounds. Like all good hipsters, we ended up in the park playing frisbee and drinking cider and beer. Can't remember what I wore, but here are Nat and Vroni enjoying a cider somewhere in Brunswick Street.

Vroni is quite the fashionista - and my brother was extremely patient as we shopped and meandered (he even indulged in buying a few things for himself - merino socks! How luxurious!).

So nice to have some laid back times with the fam - can't beat it.

My brother Nathan and his wife Vroni are coming to visit for the weekend - they turned up at 10 and we went out for drinks and laughs.

In honour of Elise going to Un Zud tomorrow I cracked out the brown dress she got me on her last visit there.

OK OK that was a lie, it was just a co-inkidink. But a nifty one, because this outfit was so long ago I can only remember what I wore because of the order of the photos on my phone. I like the tan t-bar shoes with this dress.

had media training over at north sydney again today, this time with my policy homies. made an effort to look professional, teaming up a japanesey-style top i bought from sarah-jane on king street aaaaaaaaages ago for $50 with a navy skirt that is part of the one and only suit i own (was considering the jacket but naaaaaah). Beads were from Jan and shoes are new - to me at least - black low-heeled peeptoes that Kimmy gave me at a recent clothes swap. im wearing a citizen watch my sister gave me probably about ten years' ago, when she was working for 'em.

Walked past this fantastic painted sign on the footpath - gave me a big smile to start the day.
